New Spies Hecker training video highlights special plastic additive

Spies Hecker says its new training video detailing practical advice on its new, easy-to-use, direct-to-plastic additive is now available.

With an over-coating time of only five minutes, Speed-TEC Plastic Additive 9260 saves bodyshops time and, ultimately, improves throughput.

The training video, which is available on the Spies Hecker YouTube channel as part of its Video-TEC series, demonstrates to refinishers how Speed-TEC Plastic Additive 9260 saves both time and energy as well as simplifying processes when repairing common plastic vehicle parts.

Tony Mitchell, international training leader for Axalta’s Refinish business in EMEA said: “This video serves as a good reminder for bodyshops of how they can carry out faster repairs on plastic vehicle parts with an additive that is not only easy to use, but requires fewer process steps thanks to our efficient wet-on-wet technology.”

Speed-TEC Plastic Additive 9260 is part of Spies Hecker’s innovative Speed-TEC system, which focusses on “exceptionally quick” processing times, and superb energy efficiency, with the flexibility to dry at 20°C and 40°C.

The additive has been developed to be mixed with Permasolid Speed-TEC HS Speed Surfacer 5500 and Permasolid Speed-TEC HS Wet-on-Wet Speed Surfacer 5550 and the new training video demonstrates how bodyshops can use this plastic additive to reap the benefits on plastics and particularly on white bumpers.

“Busy bodyshops no longer have to choose between fast drying and saving energy because Speed-TEC Plastic Additive 9260 offers both advantages in the one product, with no need for pre-priming, excellent coverage and reduced basecoat consumption,” Mitchell added.
