Nissan announces voluntary recall due to possible fault with child lock

Nissan Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of five different vehicle models due to a possible fault with the child lock on rear doors.

The voluntary recall affects Nissan Pulsar, Navara NP300, Note, Juke and Qashqai vehicles.

The company said that the affected vehicles were produced between September 28, 2015 and March 14, 2018.

Nissan says there are 20,770 such vehicles on the Irish market.

In a statement, Nissan Ireland said it had established that the “child lock on the rear doors could be faulty and it might be possible to open the door even when the child lock is activated”.

It said that it would be writing to affected car owners to arrange an inspection of the child lock mechanism.

Customers can check if their vehicle is involved in the recall by contacting their local Nissan dealer or authorised repairer.
