Novus Glass repairs reduce carbon footprint

Thanks to proprietary repair resins, unique tooling and extensive training Novus Glass Ireland are repairing two out of every five windscreens claims they handle on behalf of insurers, fleet providers and private customers.

“Calculated over the first eight months of 2020, Novus Glass Ireland have managed a whopping 39 per cent repair ratio,” said Stephen Maher, head of operations at Novus Glass Ireland.

Research by Sustain Ltd, a leading UK sustainability consultancy, and independently verified by Fishwick Environmental, estimates that repairing a windscreen instead of replacing it uses somewhere in the region of 44kg less CO2, when manufacturing, transport and storage are taken into account, therefore for every 1,000 cars Novus Glass Ireland are called to work on, they are saving over 17,000kg of harmful C02.

“We have the best resins in the market, the best proprietary tools and training. We can repair cracks up to 12 inches – sometimes longer on larger screens such as buses and have proven time and time again that we can repair windscreen chips that are beyond the capabilities of other windscreen companies,” enthused Maher.

One thing is for certain Novus Glass Ireland is continuing to educate drivers, fleet operators and insurers on the advantages of repair such as preserving the originality of a vehicle and the all-important time and cost savings, especially where ADAS recalibration is required post-replacement.
