PCL has welcomed Messe Frankfurt’s decision to bring its international automotive show to the UK next year. Automechanika Birmingham, in partnership with trade association SMMT, will take place at the NEC, June 7-9, and PCL has already pledged support by confirming attendance.
PCL has been a keen supporter of the international trade fair brand Automechanika since the 1990s, and were delighted at Messe Frankfurt’s decision to launch Automechanika Birmingham.
PCL Marketing Manager Matthew Butters said: “This is fantastic news for the UK automotive industry and shows there is great confidence in the marketplace here. Automechanika Frankfurt is a firm fixture on our annual exhibition calendar and is a well attended global event. Bringing this leading show to the UK will provide British companies with excellent opportunities, and Birmingham NEC is well placed for transport links for visitors from across the UK and worldwide.
“As a company proud of our UK roots and “Made in Sheffield” products we are delighted to be showcasing our products there. We look forward to seeing the familiar faces of other Automechanika brand fans, as well as lots of new faces – not just this year but in years to come as this show is sure to grow rapidly.”
The decision to launch a UK show was made after extensive research at the Frankfurt show, and strengthened by the support of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The SMMT has reported that the launch of a UK show is evidence of the global competitiveness of the British marketplace and will give companies a high-profile opportunity to promote their products and services, encouraging further growth in the automotive industry.
Automechanika Birmingham expects to welcome around 250 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors from markets including parts and components, electronics and systems, repair and maintenance, accessories and customising, management and digital solutions and car wash, care and reconditioning.
