Productive non-sanding primer-surfacers from Cromax

Cromax has developed two new direct-to-metal primer-surfacers – NS2602 and NS2607 – to accelerate bodyshop process times for passenger cars. Easy to apply, fast to recoat and offering an improved appearance, these 2K low emission, non-sanding primer-surfacers are designed to boost bodyshop throughput by eliminating the need for a two-stage build-up.

Available in two shades, NS2602 (off-white) and NS2607 (black) are part of the ValueShade concept. Developed by Cromax, ValueShade delivers the optimal undercoat for every topcoat colour. NS2602 and NS2607 are mixed together to create different shades of grey which are matched to every topcoat colour; a perfect combination that requires less paint. Lower paint consumption and less work time reap improved productivity and profitability.

Both primer-surfacers have a broad application window and are simple and quick to apply. They work with a wide range of spray gun settings for wet-on-wet application, offer the option of sanding and can be coated with all Cromax topcoats.

Anthony Cashel, Marketing Manager for Axalta Coating Systems in the UK and Ireland, says, “for a highly productive repair that offers excellent adhesion and good corrosion protection, NS2602 and NS2607 offer the perfect solution. They are suitable not only for direct to metal application on substrates such as steel, zinc and aluminium, but also over unsanded E-coats. And for maximum versatility, the addition of AZ9600 plastic additive makes NS2602 and NS2607 just as effective on exterior plastic vehicle components.”
