Safer on the road with Bosch automotive bulbs
Drizzle, night and fog – there are many reasons for limited visibility. Automotive bulbs must compensate for this and ensure a good sight at all times.
Bosch says its automotive bulbs increase road safety and driving comfort by providing excellent illumination of the road without dazzling oncoming traffic.
When making manufacturing and testing decisions, safety on the road is the most important aspect. Due to the very high quality standards, Bosch automotive bulbs are subject to particularly stringent controls.
They undergo a series of measurements and tests for filament and burner production as well as for final processing and quality. Geometric, electrical and pressure parameters are measured and mechanical strength and function are tested. In addition, inspections are carried out using automated image processing systems.
Bosch automotive bulbs are manufactured for both the original equipment, and the aftermarket on the same production lines.
Vehicles are constantly exposed to vibrations, therefore automotive bulbs must be particularly resistant. To increase resistance, Bosch says it uses tungsten wire of a particularly high quality.
Bosch automotive main bulbs are also equipped with a UV blocking filter, a so-called UV cut. This reduces the yellowing of plastic headlamp lenses.
To increase safety on public roads, automotive bulbs in Europe must be approved according to the guidelines of the ECE (Economic Commission for Europe). This standardisation makes cross manufacturer replacement possible and excludes confusion with other automotive bulbs.
In terms of product quality and safety, Bosch claims it exceeds the high ECE requirements.
