Seven generations of Volkswagen Golfs at new model launch in Roscommon dealership

Roscommon saw a unique launch of the seventh generation Volkswagen Golf last weekend at the J. Keane & Sons Volkwagen dealership.

To commemorate the new model, this innovative dealership gathered pristine examples of all seven generations to display at its state of the art showrooms.

Speaking to AutoTrade.ie, dealer principal John Keane said: “The Golf is a central model in our extensive Volkswagen line up. It was only fitting that we launched the latest and best ever model to date with an event that was a little special. It’s a great way to show our customers the extraordinary heritage of the Volkswagen Golf, which dates right back to 1973, a direct line that not many models can boast of.”

On display for the launch was a MK1 Karmann Cabriolet, a MK2 GTI (courtesy of Mr PJ Killeen), a MK3 Cabriolet, a MK4 GTI (courtesy of Mr John Henry), a MK5 TDI Comfortline, a MK6 Limited edition 250 and of course the all-new Volkswagen Golf to complete the full compliment off the seven Golf generations.

Included in the festivities were a bouncy castle for the children, refreshments and lovely ambiente Christmas music playing.
