Sikkens unveils Autosurfacer UV
Quality, speed, convenience, and sustainability – AkzoNobel Sikkens delivers the entire package with the introduction of Autosurfacer UV, a brand new one-component UV-cured filler, in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle-East and Africa).
In fact, AkzoNobel’s Automotive & Aerospace Coatings business (A&AC) can proudly and justifiably claim that Autosurfacer UV is “the fastest curing filler in the market”.
Sikkens has recently launched its global campaign “The Painters” to highlight continuous improvement of its vehicle finishes system, and Autosurfacer UV reflects that emphasis on constant gains in productivity and quality. Autosurfacer UV cures in just 5 minutes when exposed to UV light and delivers unmatched performance for any spot to medium-sized repair. And by considerably reducing cycle times, consuming up to 50% less paint and saving on energy, Autosurfacer UV provides all the conditions to increase the throughput. The end result: increased productivity, increased customer satisfaction, and higher earnings for bodyshops.
Sikkens Autosurfacer UV is ready to use straight from the can and has unlimited pot life. It has good build, excellent sanding properties and is not sensitive to contour-mapping. Because no wash primer is required before application, drying times are extremely short and sanding is possible immediately after drying. That saves valuable time and energy while still delivering excellent results.
Benefiting from its official partnership with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 Racing Team, Sikkens has been able to put Autosurfacer UV to the ultimate test under the most demanding conditions. “It saves you time and cuts down on waste,” says McLaren Paint Technician Tom Cross. “It’s great to work with really smart and innovative solutions.”
“We gain incredible insights on a daily basis from our partnership with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes,” says Remco Maassen van den Brink, EMEA Marketing Manager A&AC. “In the body shop, just like on the race course, it’s all about saving time. Sikkens Autosurfacer UV is not just a huge step forward, but also a great example of how our close cooperation leads to truly important innovations and ultimately, to product solutions for our customers.”
“The Painters”, which is part of the Sikkens global “Creating Together” campaign, kicked off this month, and features online and print materials. The whole campaign package comes together on the recently redesigned global Sikkens website. It features dynamic film trailers that take visitors behind the scenes at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England and offers up-close-and-personal stories from professional painters all around the world.
