SIMI gets positive CSS feedback

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) has received very positive feedback to its voluntary Certified Steel Standard (CSS) following a presentation at the ABP Club Meeting & Expo in Dublin last week.

Dr. Arthur O’Sullivan, who gave a presentation on behalf of the VBRS commented:  “Our CSS standard combines the rigour and traceability of PAS 125 with the best practice in Health & Safety and VOC Compliance to achieve a total operational standard that is unique to Ireland and yet at best international standard. The Independent Certification by TÜV SÜD Auto Plus GmbH provided through NMU Auditing & Inspection Services ensures the international credibility of our locally-developed standard.”

Our presentation of CSS to the assembled industry leaders at the recent ABP Club meeting in Dublin was received very enthusiastically and our call to ‘Collective CSS Action’ by all concerned to ensure CSS will be part of their business was endorsed by Insurers, Assessors, Suppliers and Bodyshop Operators alike.

“Most importantly, feedback received by the CSS team at SIMI suggests that our target of a 2014 National Network is readily achievable with the backing of the major Insurers assured.”

“Our goal over the short term is to convert enquiries and support into tangible results and more CSS partners across every county in Ireland: 2014 promises to be very busy for our development team and our Auditors.”
