SIMI partners with DoneDeal

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) is partnering with DoneDeal, the online classified advertising site, in a deal that will see adverts placed by SIMI dealers on their used car website also automatically appearing on DoneDeal.

This new ecommerce partnership between SIMI and DoneDeal will now add significant value and consumer exposure for those car dealers that use SIMI’s online car site and will provide users of DoneDeal with even greater choice and a recognisable quality assurance brand when looking to buy a used car.

SIMI Members’ Cars on DoneDeal that are filtered through the site  will fully comply with the same registration guidelines required of any advert that goes live on the site.

For example each car must have been cleared by Car History Check (operated by Experian) and every car on the website comes with some level of warranty, be it an Approved Warranty, a Manufacturer Warranty, or a Dealer Warranty. Every single dealer advertising on is a registered SIMI member, fulfilling strict acceptance criteria and undertaking to adhere to the SIMI Code of Ethics.

From its latest monthly figures, DoneDeal now has over 50,000 car ads active on the site and in September 2012 more than 28,000 cars were sold on DoneDeal. In addition to this there are over 30,000 other advertss in the Motor section which cover Car Extras, Rally Cars, Vintage Cars, Mobile Homes, Motorbikes and many more. With this new partnership DoneDeal will see, on average, an additional 10,000 cars from active on DoneDeal.

The company has experienced significant growth over the last year with over 200,000 adverts now active on the site at any one time, 90,000 new items advertised on the site each month and almost 3 million unique visitors to the website each month.
