Spies Hecker and Standox become Kia preferred paint partners

Spies Hecker and Standox – two of the premium refinish brands of Axalta, a leading global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings – have become two of the Preferred Paint Partner brands of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd (KMUK) approved bodyshops after signing a three year commercial paint agreement on 1 January 2020.

 Mark Andrews, National Sales Manager for Axalta in the UK & Ireland, says, “We are delighted that KMUK has chosen Spies Hecker and Standox to be among its Preferred Paint Partners in the UK. Spies Hecker and Standox are currently installed in 70 of KMUK’s 158 approved UK bodyshops, and this agreement shows that the first-class paint technologies, comprehensive expert advice and practical application guidance offered by our brands meet Kia’s exacting standards.”

The agreement sees Spies Hecker and Standox able to provide KMUK-approved bodyshops with comprehensive training at the Axalta Refinish Academy in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. This will ensure KMUK refinishers attain the best results with the two brands’ refinish products and tools.

Under the agreement, KMUK-approved bodyshops are required to use approved paint brands on all warranty work and any work sent to them via the Kia Car Insurance and Accident Aftercare programmes.
