Standothek guides cover a number of different themes from identifying and eliminating paint defects to advice on health and safety. Standopedia is an illustrated online guide that provides technical information and invaluable know-how for professional refinishers wanting to update their skills.

For bodyshops that specialise in classic car restoration, Classic Colour Documentation is an invaluable and extensive online resource of car colours. It contains over 40 international car marques, from Alfa Romeo to Volkswagen, and enables refinishers to see what a car would have looked like with its original paintwork. It allows refinishers to match the original colour for a perfect, accurate restoration.

Digital learning

While refinishers can hone their skills by attending a Standox training course at the Axalta Refinish Academy in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, it’s not always possible to take time out of the bodyshop. Mikey is an interactive online training programme that gives refinishers the flexibility of learning specialist skills whenever and wherever they want. There are eight modules, covering a range of subjects from surface preparation to colours and colour tools.

For refinishers who prefer to learn through watching practical demonstrations, Standovision is a growing series of training videos that can be found on the Standox website and the Standox YouTube channel. In the videos, the Standox experts give tips for the correct and economical use of Standox products. The digital bodyshop

Digital tools in the bodyshop can speed up work processes and offer unprecedented accuracy to enable refinishers to get excellent right-first-time results. Genius iQ is the latest spectrophotometer from Standox, with advanced technology that makes it extremely fast and accurate. Using Wi-Fi, it instantly shares colour data with other refinishers in the bodyshop who have access to a mobile device, dramatically speeding up workflow. It also transfers data to the Standox colour management system, Standowin iQ, which provides access to over 250,000 colour mixing formulas and offers fast, simple and clear colour identification. The software also provides job card management that enables refinishers to get a complete overview of the repair jobs in the bodyshop, and data can be retrieved via a tablet or smartphone.

Standox also offers its distributors and bodyshops access to information such as price lists, technical support and colour request forms through its extranet, Netbox.
