Standox sets OEM trends

The Geneva Autoshow is a great place to see what the automotive industry has in store for drivers, from the latest technologies, to fantastic concept cars and of course the colours and special paint effects that are trending. For Standox, who specialise in colour and colour matching, keeping up to date with these trends is essential.

“We work very closely with car manufacturers to make sure we have the latest colours and techniques refinishers will need to tackle any job, and get the best results,” says Jodie Henly, Standox brand specialist. “Over the past few months we have added a number of new clearcoat additives in different shades of red and blue, and there will be more to follow. These are consistent with the latest colours coming off the production lines at manufacturers such as Renault, Ford and Alpha Romeo.”

This year’s Geneva Autoshow has seen blue as the colour of choice for environmentally friendly vehicles, and even the ever popular whites and white pearls are taking on a bluish tint. In contrast to these clean, pure colours, bright reds and oranges are also standing out as the trending colours.

Matt clearcoats in various colour shades are evident, and the combination of matt and glossy finishes will be seen increasingly on our roads.

“To keep our bodyshops completely up to date, we offer a range of colour tools and services, as well as comprehensive training on site and at the Refinish Academy so refinishers can be confident when vehicles sporting the latest colours and effects come in for repair,” adds Henly.

The new range of clearcoat additives from Standox are available in four half-litre cans and can be used with the Standocryl Clear range. For more information on these and other Standox products and services, contact your local distributor or visit www.standox.co.uk.
