Stanners approved by IMI to do additional ATA training assessments

Stanners Equipment’s technical team of trainers/testers have now been approved by the IMI to do the ATA AOM133 rivet and bond module on-site.

Under new IMI guidelines, panel technicians whose AOM030 has expired will now be reassessed on the 133 module. The new module covers more complex rivet and bonding procedures. For example, whereas the 030 only covered blind rivets, the 133 covers self pierce, rivet removal, blind and flow form rivet practices.

To help technicians hone their skills, Stanners offers a pre-training day, on-site, before the assessments.

John Stanners of Stanners Equipment said: “The ATA AOM133 training and assessments will be carried out in our specialist Sprinter vans which were converted by Evans Halshaw bodycentre in Leeds.

“They are literally mobile training centres and enable us to provide training and ATA assessment at the bodyshop so that technicians don’t have to travel for accreditation and re-accreditation for bonding and riveting and welding certification.

“We are also IMI approved to carry out the ATA AOM006 MET complex module on site.

“In addition to these new modules we still offer our current on site BS weld testing for car, OEM and commercial, high strength steel and MIG brazing, ATA009, ATA030.

“Furthermore, we provide BS aluminium weld testing and pre-training for OEM aluminium welding accreditation such as Tesla.”
