Total unveils new synthetic oil

Total has developed a new Synthetic engine oil, Total Quartz 9000 Future Eco Boost 5W-20, which provides the best protection against wear and deposits in the engine, the company says.

This synthetic technology has now become very important in new engines, as the post-treatment systems in these new petrol engines are now more sensitive to the lubricants used and are expensive to maintain and repair if the incorrect lubricants are used.

Total’s new Quartz 9000 Future Eco Boost 5W-20 has this synthetic technology, which protects the expensive post-treatment systems over the long term thanks to the product’s low phosphorus content. This new engine oil reduces the internal friction within the engine so that it can deliver full power, while also generating fuel savings.

This new grade of engine oil has been specially developed to earn an official Approval from Ford for meeting Ford’s specification: Ford WSS-M2C-948-B and is particularly well-suited for use in Ford’s petrol powered engines. This grade of oil is the required engine oil for the 1.0L 3 cylinder EcoBoost engines, and is also backward compatible and recommended for other Ford petrol powered engines.
