DuPont Refinish training offers refinishers at every stage of their career the opportunity to maximise their skills sets and productivity, which in turn helps their bodyshops increase profitability. For 2013, DuPont Refinish concentrates on five key training areas for refinishers:
- Fast Repair
What is it? Small to medium area repair techniques (SMART) are at the forefront of the refinishing industry thanks to the need for durable, workable and long-lasting cosmetic repair systems. Fast Repair is very popular as it offers quick and efficient repairs and can help bodyshops tap into this potentially lucrative yet highly-skilled source of work. A full day of training; delegates receive a Fast Repair ruler and a technical manual along with a full range of personalised marketing material to help bodyshops promote this service.

- DuPont Refinish colour
What is it? A two-day training course to introduce delegates to the importance of colour matching and the techniques used to achieve it. The course is a mix of colour theory and practical tinting exercises with the DuPont Refinish colour matching tool ChromaVision®.
When is it? 2/3 April 2013, 1/2 July 2013, 21/22 October 2013
- Tri-coat paint systems
What is it? A two-day, specialist paint application course, using the waterborne basecoat Cromax®. Aimed at experienced refinishers, the aim of this course is to provide paint shop technicians with the right equipment to achieve successful first-time results with minimal outlay. The tri-coat process, including three-stage pearl effects, is becoming very popular with all car marques and is also included in the ATA accreditation.
When is it? 20/21 May 2013, 12/13 August 2013 - ATA Assessment
What is it? To attain each level of accreditation, candidates will have to pass practical assessments and on-line knowledge tests. Accreditation levels include Paint Technician and Senior Paint Technician.

- Advanced Cromax®
What is it? A two-day course for refinishers at all levels. The course takes refinishers through every aspect of the waterborne basecoat usage, from the importance of substrate identification and preparation, to colour mixing, application and blending techniques. Using proven best practice methodology, refinishers learn repair methods, practical tips and specialist information on the procedures and products required to productively and successfully repair vehicles. And for the second year running on this course, DuPont Refinish is offering Quality Assured Awards (QAA) endorsement, independently verified by the IMI.
