TRW’S Tech Corner focuses on Electric Park Brake system
TRW Automotive Aftermarket’s free online technical resource, ‘Tech Corner’ which is accessed through www.trwaftermarket.com is focusing on its pioneering Electric Park Brake (EPB) system as the cold, wet and icy weather of winter approaches.
Launched at this year’s Automechanika Frankfurt, Tech Corner is easy to use, regularly updated and packed with how-to guides, short video demonstrations and tutorials to support installers as they repair and replace TRW components.
EPB was invented by TRW to enhance brake performance and driver convenience. Already used on more than 30 million cars worldwide, including the following models: Renault Scenic, Volkswagen Passat and Audi A6. With statistics suggesting that the system will be fitted to almost one in three vehicles by 2015, there’s an ever growing requirement to provide installers with the know-how to safely repair and replace EPB calipers as they come into garages for servicing.
TRW’s Garage and Online Marketing Manager, Alexander Knorn said: “Since the introduction of EPB in 2001, the system has continued to increase in popularity; not least because it’s been made more affordable so it can be used on a wide range of platforms. This is an exciting time for us because vehicles will require replacement components and installers will need the knowledge to fit them. Offering Tech Corner completes our service offer to installers.”
The Tech Corner portal allows users unlimited access and can be used on a variety of platforms, including desktop computers, smartphones and tablets.
