Two arrested in North Dublin over the theft of catalytic converters

Two men were yesterday arrested in North Dublin in relation to ongoing investigations into the theft of catalytic converters.

Gardaí conducted an intervention on a number of vehicles in Clongriffin, where four stolen catalytic converters, a car-jack, cutting equipment and a number of cloned registration plates were seized.

Two falsely registered vehicles and one cloned registered vehicle were also seized, Gardaí said.

Two men, one aged 21 and the other a juvenile, were arrested at the scene in North Dublin before being detained at Coolock Garda Station.

The 21-year-old has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice today, July 9.
