U-POL answers Car SOS call

U-POL has seized upon the phenomenal success of the TV programme by offering the next series currently in production its unrivalled support.

The Northamptonshire-based operation has given popular presenters Tim Shaw and Fuzz Townsend total access to its vast array of products needed to restore their line-up of classic cars.

The duo, who have created a cult following thanks to their infectious quick-fire banter and high-jinx activities combined with their extensive knowledge and expertise while restoring a variety of vehicles, have instantly made use of the arrangement by receiving U-POL’s entire Dolphin filler range including its Dolphin Glaze fine filler developed to eliminate pin holes and surface imperfections along with U-POL’s products designed to specifically repair plastic bumpers.

U-POL’s entire premium aerosol range encompassing its advanced clear coats, weld through primers, spot primers, solvent-based degreasers and dry guide coats to stone chip protectors were also high on the ‘shopping list’ together with an extensive list of repair paraphernalia such as sanding discs, wipes, dust masks, thinners and mop heads.

Tim said: “Anyone who has seen the show will be well aware Fuzz and I beg and borrow whatever we need to make our magic and restore those vehicles in front of us U-POL have effectively set us up with a vast array of products and accessories we could never of dreamed of getting our hands on but all are crucial in restoring vehicles to the highest standards possible.

“Our reputation has been built on restoring classic cars that have been on our roads for a long old time. We have a close similarity with U-POL as it has been producing products that have been the mainstay for repairing cars for 70 years.”

Tim, Fuzz and the Car SOS team seize upon an opportunity to help motorists with a passion for restoring vehicles but, due to various reasons, are prevented from doing so. Car SOS has the highest viewing figures on the National Geographic channel in which it is primarily aired and attracts hundreds of thousands more viewers on Channel 4 and More4 when it is repeated on those channels.

U-POL CEO Guy Williams, said: “We were only too pleased to assist Tim, Fuzz and the Car SOS team. Most of us here at U-POL are self-confessed petrol heads and are avid watchers of Car SOS. Helping the guys out with our products which span every area of the non-mechanical repair process, particularly as they help out fellow petrol heads fulfil their dreams, is the least we could do.”
