Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles teams with National Ploughing Championships

The National Ploughing Championships which takes place from the 25th to the 27th of September has once again chosen Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to support this year’s event. The event takes place at Heathpark, New Ross, Co. Wexford and is Ireland’s largest outdoor and agricultural festival,

As the official motoring sponsor, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will provide a fleet of its hugely popular pick-up, the Amarok, to support the championships off-road transportation needs.
A total of 15 Amarok vehicles will be supplied to the National Ploughing Association organisers during the week-long event and will provide an essential support for key personnel across the 700 acres site.
The 4×4 Amarok, which was launched in 2011, is Volkswagen’s first double-cab pick-up and has become especially popular within the farming community.
Managing director of the National Ploughing Association, Anna May McHugh, said: “We are delighted to once again receive Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles support at this year’s event.
“The Amarok proved last year that it is a perfect fit for our event and will once again be a huge benefit to the exhibition team during the site build and throughout the event.”
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also have a stand at the show featuring a display of vehicles for visitors to closely inspect, including the Amarok, Transporter, Caddy, Caddy Life, Crafter and California Camper Van.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sales and marketing manager, Niall Phillips, added: “We are delighted to be returning once again with a sponsorship deal at this year’s National Ploughing Championships. The event proved to be very successful for us last year and gave us a great opportunity to showcase our vehicle range in its natural habitat.”
“The robust Amarok pick-up in particular is right at home at the Ploughing Championships, because of its outstanding off-road and towing abilities and thanks to innovative technology and excellent fuel economy the Championships offer the perfect setting to demonstrate its capability to transport heavy loads as well as delivering passenger comfort.”
