Axalta eyes Automechanika Birmingham debut in 2025

Axalta is already looking ahead to 2025, as the coatings company is set to make its debut at Automechanika Birmingham next June.

The company says it continues to focus on developing new technologies and strategies to support its customers and remain at the forefront of the industry, providing solutions to meet its evolving needs.

Jason Hopkins, country director for Axalta, said: “The automotive coatings industry is currently navigating several challenges, including the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and unprecedented rises in energy and utility prices.

“These pressures have heightened the focus on reducing operational costs, with energy-efficient products and services taking centre stage. Axalta is responding to these challenges by developing coatings that enhance energy savings and reduce key-to-key times, helping bodyshops remain productive and cost-effective.”

Over recent years, Axalta claims to have significantly evolved its business operations in the UK and Ireland, focusing on adding value through strategic acquisitions and expanded services.

The integration of U-POL has bolstered Axalta’s position, allowing the company to offer a comprehensive range of paint products alongside U-POL’s repair solutions.

With a dedicated team of over 45 professionals in technical, sales and commercial roles, Axalta says it is poised to deliver exceptional support to both distributors and end-users.

The company’s training facility in Welwyn Garden City and its manufacturing and technical development labs at U-POL’s head office in Wellingborough highlight its commitment to the automotive coatings industry.

Axalta’s latest coatings are said to be designed to deliver notable energy savings through advancements in application techniques and drying processes.

The focus on efficiency extends across its product range, from Axalta’s own offerings to U-POL products, all crafted to meet the demands of modern bodyshops while providing demonstrable cost savings.

Recent innovations from Axalta include the IRUS Mix machine, a fully automated paint mixing system that enhances mix efficiency, speed and colour accuracy.

As Axalta prepares for its first appearance at Automechanika Birmingham, the company aims to demonstrate its vision with U-POL, with visitors to its stand expected to see “groundbreaking products and technologies” that highlight the company’s commitment to helping customers achieve their commercial goals and drive profitable growth.
