BMW enters recycling partnership with PreZero
The BMW Group has entered into a cooperation agreement with circular economy company PreZero, to develop a business model for recycling end-of-life vehicles across the European automotive industry.
The partnership, said BMW, aims to create closed-loop material cycles, reduce dependence on primary raw materials and make supply chains more resilient by using end-of-life vehicles as a source of secondary materials.

Under the agreement, signed this week in Germany, the companies will jointly test recycling processes and develop new approaches to material flow management.
BMW will contribute design for recycling expertise and insights from its in-house Recycling and Dismantling Centre, while PreZero will share knowledge of European material flows and sorting technologies, as well as its expertise as one of Europe’s leading battery recyclers.
The partnership will initially focus on keeping a vehicle’s components in the loop for as long as possible through continued use, before recovering materials including steel, aluminium, plastics and battery raw materials through recycling processes.
