Italian man arrested for trying to sell counterfeit Ferrari
Italian police have arrested a man who tired to sell a modified Toyota MR2 as a Ferrari F355GTS.
The Guardia di Finanza (GdF), responsible for tackling financial crimes and money laundering in Italy, seized the vehicle and charged the man with counterfeiting.

The police unit said Toyota’s original emblems, logos and mechanical parts, including the wheels, steering wheel, door sills, wheel arches, and front and rear hoods, had been replaced with products “seemingly identical” to those of Ferrari.
While the ‘fake’ Ferrari was advertised for sale online without a price tag, the Ferrari F355GTS, which was produced from 1994 to 1999, can sell at auction for over €150,000.
Italy’s Judicial Authority has ordered the destruction of the counterfeited components.
