Maha Ireland completes CVRT equipment kit-out for M9 Test Centre
Maha Ireland’s latest CVRT installation project has “exceeded expectations” of the owners of M9 Test Centre.
Based in Co. Kilkenny, the purpose-built test centre was built within a year, with Maha Ireland’s vehicle test equipment installed in just three weeks.
There are four lanes on site – two HGV and two LGV – each fully equipped to handle a wide range of vehicle testing requirements.

The two HGV testing lanes are each fitted with a commercial roller brake tester (MBT 7250), weight simulators (MLS 2100), axle play detectors (LMS 20.0), side slip tester (MINC II) and headlight alignment tester (MLT 3000), along with a diesel emission tester, stainless steel in-ground guide rails and a 20t pit jack.
Meanwhile, the two LGV testing lanes are equipped with a roller brake tester (MBT 3250), axle damper tester (MDS 3000), side slip tester (MINC I) and headlight alignment tester (MLT 3000), as well as the in-ground guide rails. The LGV lane has both a petrol and diesel emission tester, while vehicle inspections are supported with three flush-floor 5t scissor lifts (DUO CM 5.0U).
Paul Holden, owner of M9 Test Centre – adjacent to Holden Plant Rentals – said he was “incredibly proud” of the new CVRT facility, a reflection of the company’s commitment to quality and innovation in vehicle testing, but also its desire to increase its repertoire of services and create job openings in the local community.
He continued: “The centre’s design and functionality enable us to deliver efficient and reliable services to our customers.
“The CVRT centre is set to enhance our service offerings at Holdens significantly. We anticipate it will not only improve our operational efficiency but also create job opportunities within the community.”

M9 Test Centre opened for CVRT testing in September 2025, and customers have been impressed with the premium quality finish of the modern, bespoke centre and service to match.
Holden said: “Booking slots were becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. By having our own CVRT centre, we can ensure that our customers receive the best possible service with minimum downtime.
“Many of those customers have already expressed their satisfaction with the level of professionalism, expertise and care of our staff. All of these factors are already proving the investment was an astute one.”
The design and construction of M9 Test Centre presented several challenges; however, Maha Ireland played a significant role in the project, providing expert guidance on facility design, overseeing civil works, and ensuring smooth installation of all testing equipment and systems.
Its leadership was instrumental in keeping the project on schedule and delivering an exceptional facility, according to Holden.
“The support from Maha Ireland was exemplary. Its team was instrumental in providing guidance throughout the project, ensuring that M9 Test Centre is equipped with the latest equipment and technology.
“It supported our decision to choose MahaIreland too. We chose the company, not just because of its reputation for high-quality testing equipment, but also its extensive experience in the industry. Its ability to provide tailored solutions were key factors in our decision,” he added.
Maha Ireland managing director, Eoin Mallon, said: “We were delighted to partner with Paul and all the team at Holdens on this project. It was a tremendous team effort from all involved, and the hard work is evident to see from the finished product.
“From everyone at Maha Ireland, I wish to thank the team at Holdens for its support and wish M9 Test Centre many years of successful testing.”
