Simply Brands encourages drivers to look at their wipers

Leading supplier of auto accessories and private labelling manufacturer, Simply Brands, is urging workshops and factors to encourage drivers to look at their wiper blades.

There are clear signs when a wiper blade is coming to the end of its life and it’s important that factors and technicians share these tips with their customers.

• The blade is streaking – this is when the blade doesn’t completely clear the windscreen, leaving streaks of water or debris
• The blade is chattering – when the blade doesn’t move smoothly across the windscreen and jumps on and off the windscreen
• The blade is smearing – when the debris or water is smeared across the windscreen, but not removed, making it difficult to have a clear windscreen and therefore vision of the road ahead

By having drivers look for signs of wear on their wiper blades, they’ll also be more conscious of the effectiveness of their blades.

Simply Brands has a competitively priced range of wiper blades that were developed and tested in the UK over a nine month period. Consisting of both multi-fit flat blades and traditional conventional blades, it will cover the vast majority of the car parc.

The multi-fit flat blade offering will cover 98% of the car parc and consists of 15 SKUs with eight original equipment (OE) fit adaptors that cover the 10 most popular OE arm types. This will include a retro fit hook adaptor to upgrade older vehicles to the latest flat blade technology.

The flat blade technology delivers perfect wiping pressure across the entire blade length thanks to two precision cut steel rails, with a symmetrical spoiler reducing wind lift at high speeds. The rubber wiping element is made of synthetic and natural rubber compound for an optimum blend of performance and durability.

The conventional blade range has 11 SKUs in lengths 280mm – 700mm, and all are a metal vented frame design with a universal pre-attached adaptor to fit all hook wiper arms, as well as legacy side pin and 7mm bayonet wiper arms.

All blades come in environmentally friendly carton packaging that, to assist with fitment, feature QR codes that will direct users to a wiper blade finder, as well as installation instructions. For those who prefer written step by step instructions, Simply Brands also includes printed installation instructions inside every pack.
