White is the global leader in consumer vehicle colour choice for 2018, according to figures released by Axalta’s annual Global Automotive Colour Popularity Report.<\/p>\n

The 66th annual report shows white as the global leader at 38 per cent, holding its top spot with a significant gap ahead of second-place black (18 per cent) and a third-place tie between silver and gray (12 per cent).<\/p>\n

Regionally, black and gray saw significant increases in notable\u00a0areas. Black jumped in China (five per cent), Asia (three per cent), South Korea\u00a0and Africa (both two per cent). Gray gained ground in Africa (three per cent)\u00a0and Europe (two per cent).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have witnessed an emerging trend toward warmer shades along with\u00a0colour combinations with black to challenge white\u2019s position,\u201d said Nancy Lockhart, colour marketing manager at Axalta Global.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough neutral\u00a0spaces are the headliners, there is an indication of a return to colour\u00a0to change the automotive landscape. Blue is most popular outside the\u00a0neutrals and, holding strong at seven percent of the market, increases\u00a0of orange and bronze are popping up and gaining interest.\u201d<\/p>\n
