At Automechanika 2012 in Frankfurt, Zvonimir Simunovic, Standox GmbH brand manager, talked about the challenges facing bodyshops today. He explained that the Standox one visit application system is a solution which has been helping Standox bodyshops stay ahead of the competition since 1992.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cNew technologies, increasing competitive pressure and the growing influence of the insurance industry mean bodyshops need to be increasingly flexible,\u201d says Simunovic. \u201cthey need to use management and operational resources even more effectively and endeavour to make their businesses as profitable as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simunovic feels it is vital to provide bodyshops with high-quality products and technology that help increase efficiency and productivity. \u201cIt is an important feature of our superior coating technology that many of our products can be applied in a one spray pass without flash off,\u201d explains Simunovic. \u201cOur one visit application system greatly reduces process times, as the usual flash-off times between coats are not needed. Moreover, the system achieves perfect through-drying. The bodyshop saves not only time but also materials.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bodyshops that use Standohyd can apply the basecoat in combination with Standocryl VOC Express Clear in a single spray pass for each material. The system is complemented with VOC Nonstop Primer Filler, which can also be applied in a single pass. \u201cStandox is the first paint manufacturer to offer a complete one visit system,\u201d says Simunovic. \u201cIn fact, nearly all Standox clears can be applied in one visit, as well as established coating systems such as Standohyd Basecoat, Standofleet and selected fillers. We offer bodyshops many productsthat help them increase their productivity thanks to shorter repair and booth operation times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Standox presented its first one visit system at Automechanika in 1992. The Wuppertal-based paint manufacturer has constantly refined this technology over the years and today has an important technological lead. The technique is especially suited for bodyshops that want efficient processes, reduced energy costs and an improved carbon footprint through shorter booth operation times.
\n\u201cAt a time when bodyshops are subject to growing pressure, such efficiency gains can result in an important competitive advantage,\u201d concludes Zimunovic.<\/p>\n
