{"id":29515,"date":"2025-04-10T13:44:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T13:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bodyshop.ie\/?p=29515"},"modified":"2025-04-10T13:44:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T13:44:10","slug":"continental-expected-to-sell-contitech-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bodyshop.ie\/index.php\/continental-expected-to-sell-contitech-business\/29515","title":{"rendered":"Continental expected to sell ContiTech business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Continental AG looks set to sell its ContiTech business unit, following the announcement that Continental will shift its sole focus to tyre manufacturing.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The German manufacturer has said that &#8220;as things stand&#8221;, selling the ContiTech group sector is &#8220;the most likely option&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>This is to be implemented after the spin-off of the Automotive group sector and the sale of the Original Equipment Solutions (OESL) business area.<\/p>\n<p>ContiTech is expected to begin operating independently as a material solutions specialist at some stage during 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Continental said the restructuring initiative is part of the firm&#8217;s plan to establish its three group sectors \u2014 Tires, ContiTech, and Automotive \u2014 as independent companies.<\/p>\n<p>Following these changes, Continental AG will operate exclusively as a global tyre company.<\/p>\n<p>Continental CEO Nikolai Setzer said: \u201cOver the past 30 years in particular, Continental has used targeted acquisitions and organic growth to build up three strong group sectors in their respective industries. These are now ready for independence.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today\u2019s highly dynamic markets also call for focused, agile and decisive action. Now is therefore the right time to initiate the most far-reaching realignment in the company\u2019s history.
