<\/p>\nSolera, a leading vehicle lifecycle management company, has partnered with AkzoNobel Vehicle Refinishes to enable bodyshops and insurers to calculate CO\u2082 emissions per repair using process-specific paint and energy data.<\/p>\n
This collaboration will see the integration of AkzoNobel\u2019s product and process data into Solera\u2019s Sustainable Estimatics platform.<\/p>\n
By factoring in variables such as specific paint systems, spray booth time, drying temperature, and VOC emissions, the integration aims to deliver a detailed view of emissions associated with the entire refinish process.<\/p>\n
The partnership wants to help repairers to make more informed, sustainable choices \u2014 balancing environmental impact with operational efficiency.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a key step in delivering our sustainability ambition and our first initiative with Solera,\u201d said Ignacio Rom\u00e1n Navarro, business director Automotive & Vehicle Refinishes EMEA at AkzoNobel. \u201cBy helping bodyshops choose the right coating systems that combine faster process times with lower energy consumption, we\u2019re reducing carbon emissions while supporting business profitability.\u201d<\/p>\n
The collaboration, initially launching across EMEA, aligns with AkzoNobel\u2019s broader sustainability strategy to reduce carbon emissions by up to 50 per cent across its value chain by 2030.<\/p>\n
The partnership builds on the success of AkzoNobel\u2019s digital tools\u2014such as the CO\u2082eRepairCalculator and Carbon Pulse\u2014by embedding emissions transparency into daily repair workflows.<\/p>\n
