{"id":31379,"date":"2026-04-02T13:44:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T13:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bodyshop.ie\/?p=31379"},"modified":"2026-04-02T13:45:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T13:45:06","slug":"mercedes-benz-trucks-to-build-new-czech-assembly-plant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bodyshop.ie\/index.php\/mercedes-benz-trucks-to-build-new-czech-assembly-plant\/31379","title":{"rendered":"Mercedes-Benz Trucks to build new Czech assembly plant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mercedes-Benz Trucks is set to commence construction next year of a new assembly and manufacturing site in Czechia, with operations targeted for the end of the decade.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The W\u00f6rth plant in Germany will remain the lead and largest volume site in the Mercedes-Benz Trucks network, with both locations planned to produce vehicles with conventional and alternative drivetrains.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-49018\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cvworkshop.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/26DT064_002_53424695-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"452\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new Czechia site will be located in Cheb, a small town on the German border and around 170km from Prague. It will take on part of the current production programme from Aksaray and W\u00f6rth, with painted cab bodies to be supplied from the latter.<\/p>\n<p>Daimler Truck said it will invest a &#8220;low to mid three\u2011digit million\u2011euro amount&#8221; in the new site over the coming years. An annual production capacity is estimated at around 25,000 units and is expected to create over 1,000 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Daimler Truck has also committed more than \u20ac2 billion across its German production sites by 2030, with around half allocated to W\u00f6rth.<\/p>\n<p>Planned upgrades include a new paint shop and expansion of the body in white area for future cab generations.
