Pinetree upgrades ActiveWeb
Pinetree, part of PPG has upgraded ActiveWeb, the market leading Claims Management System, which is now hosted on the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
The upgrade provides global scalability and further enhances the already stringent security controls of the ActiveWeb Claims system used by many of the UK’s leading insurers and repair centres.
Data security is a core priority for all businesses, especially with the impending General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation changes in 2018. The ActiveWeb Claims Management System is already the most secure, ICO compliant platform in the industry and regularly undergoes rigorous testing by specialist security companies and multiple insurance companies.
As part of Pinetree’s extensive development programme and continued focus on security for its customers, they have worked in partnership with Microsoft to integrate the ActiveWeb Claims Management System with Azure. This ensures the continued delivery of the highest degree of protection and regulatory compliance within the industry.
Security and privacy are built into the foundations of the Microsoft Azure platform. This ranges from encrypted communications, data encrypted at rest, tightly controlled user access, threat detection and database auditing. It also includes providing multiple layers of data protection for Pinetree’s ActiveWeb Claims Management System.
The partnership with Microsoft also allows Pinetree to leverage the power of Azure’s scalable Cloud platform to support its rapid growth. ActiveWeb now connects to over 1,000 systems and has processed over 9 million claims to date. The Azure platform provides increased capacity to ensure the ActiveWeb Claims Management System continues to build on its already strong foundations. It will also support the delivery of some significant new features in ActiveWeb which are being rolled out over the coming months.
Lee Sumner, Pinetree Consulting General Manager, commented on the development, “ActiveWeb provides significant benefit to all parties in the claim and repair process and as such, we are seeing demand for ActiveWeb increase significantly. Our goal was to provide a fully scalable solution that could keep up with demand whilst ensuring that we continued to deliver best in class security.”
Thanks to the global partnership between PPG and Microsoft, we have worked closely with them to develop a solution that meets and exceeds both our scalability requirements and the regulatory security requirements and provides a great foundation for all our future developments,” he added.
I’m really excited about the ongoing investment PPG continues to make in its technology solutions and am looking forward to rolling out the new developments we have planned.”
With this announcement, PPG will continue to build on its existing Pinetree development programme leveraging Microsoft Azure capabilities. This will continue to make it easier for customers to remain connected throughout the claim and repair process and they will be using a system they know in a trusted environment.
